في رحيل البابا شنودة الثالث.

أسكنه الله فسيح جناته.

إن البابا قد قال جملة لا نستطيع أن ننساها أبدا:

بل وطن يعيش فينا"

احمد بن علي شوقي، معروف بأمير الشعراء.

ولد أحمد شوقي في القاهرة عام1868م، لأب من أصول كردية وأم من أصول يونانية، ولدوا والديه وترعرعوا في مصر...

من أسرة ميسورة الحال تتصل بقصر الخديوي أخذته جدته لأمه من المهد ، وكفلته لوالديه.... وفي سن الرابعة أدخل كتاب الشيخ صالح بحي السيدة زينب... انتقل الى مدرسة المبتديان الابتدائية ، وبعد ذلك المدرسة التجهيزية الثانوية حيث حصل على المجانية كمكافأة على تفوقه...

أتم الثانوية..ودرس بعد ذلك الحقوق، وبعد ان أتمها..عينه الخديوي في خاصته..وأرسله بعد عام إلى فرنسا ليستكمل دراسته، وأقام هناك 3 أعوام..عاد بالشهادة النهائية سنة1893 م....

عاد شوقي إلى مصر أوائل سنة 1894 م فضمه توفيق إلى حاشيته

أصدر الجزء الأول من الشوقيات – الذي يحمل تاريخ سنة 1898 م وتاريخ صدوره الحقيقي سنة1890م

نفاه الإنجليز إلى الأندلس سنة 1914 م بعد أن اندلعت نيران الحرب العالمية الأولى ، وفرض الإنجليز حمايتهم على مصر 1920 م

أنتج فى أخريات سنوات حياته مسرحياته وأهمها : مصرع كليوباترا ، ومجنون ليلى ، قمبيز ، وعلى بك الكبير

توفى شوقي فى 14 أكتوبر 1932 م مخلفاً للأمة العربية تراثاً شعرياً خالداً.

Ahmed bin Ali Shawki (1868 - 1932) , known as the prince of poets, was one of the finest Arabic Language poets and dramatists who pioneered the modern Egyptian literary movement, most notably introducing the genre of poetic epics to the Arabic literary tradition. Shawqi also produced distinctive poetry that is widely considered to be the most prominent of the 20th century in Egypt. His family were of Kurdish origin (father) & Greek origin (mother), his parents were born and raised in Egypt
